Old Occupy San Diego signs on Flickr.Via Flickr:
I have a few old signs from the beginning days of Occupy San Diego in the trunk of my car. So I said, “hey, lets take a photo of them to revisit these days!”
This one is very nostalgic because I identify this sign with an occupier near and dear to me (Johnny Nguyen)

Occupy Congress | Storming the Steps of the Supreme Court on Flickr.Via Flickr:
During the day, the police effectively built a police line to contain protesters from the Capitol on January 17 for Occupy Congress. In the case of the Supreme Court, the Police were not prepared to deflect protesters as they stormed up the Supreme Court on an evening march that commenced at the Capitol and ended at the White House. The permit only allowed protesters to be on the lawn area of the Capitol on January 17, 2012 for the National Action calling all occupations to “Occupy Congress” even though the steps of Congress are considered “public.” Any attempt to go forth was met with police action including arrest. Pictured here is a woman glaring in the direction of the Capitol Police showing no signs of being intimidated by the police line. (Johnny Nguyen)

Students For Occupy

This was sent to OccupySDPhotography and I (personally) commend these 10th graders that are showing interest in history and politics rather than Kim Kardashian’s fake marriage. Keep informed guys!

"We are a group of 10th grade students from Greenfield in Western Massachusetts. We are doing a school project in our History class about activism. Our group chose to stand behind Occupy Wall Street. We are advocating for campaign finance reform, we’re trying to make the wealth gap smaller, and we believe that the top 1 percent (that can obviously afford it) should pay higher taxes than the 99 percent. If you have any additional information for us or would simply like to follow us to stand behind the fact that students ARE interested in this movement and WANT to be a part of it, you are more then welcome.”
